So here’s yet another Harry Potter trailer and it looks like the Half-Blood Prince movie may actually follow the plot of the book. Maybe David Yates has run out of creative thinking or maybe he just realized that the reason people like the books is because the story is good and he shouldn’t keep messing with it 😛 . Anyway the trailer looks very promising and it shows a lot of Harry and Dumbledore on their excursions (which I would hope it would considering that’s what mainly happened in the book, even though in the 3rd movie the Firebolt didn’t even show up until the end and there was no winning the Quidditch Cup). Just their apparition alone is very cool looking. The trailer also gives a better introduction to Horace Slughorn for those people that are too lazy to read the books still. It also looks like the part where Ron eats the cupcakes filled with love potion will be hilarious. Harry-“Alright fine you’re in love with her, have you ever actually met her?,” Ron-“No…..could you introduce me?” Who wouldn’t laugh at Ron being all crazy pants for some random girl that he doesn’t even know? It also looks like they’re actually going to have Ron get poisoned from drinking Slughorn’s wine too. It’s so impressive that Yates managed to use a whole scene from the book without changing it lol.
Anyways, I’m also really excited about getting to see the memories of Dumbledore meeting Riddle and the ministry man meeting Marvolo Gaunt (at least I hope this memory is in the movie). We also get to see some Quidditch action again and it looks like we’ll actually get to see Ron doing a good job as the Keeper. Another interesting thing in the trailer are Luna’s fun Specter Specs. They’re really fun and glowy. We also see Hermione wearing something strange in the movie and she looks like she’s about to cry so I’m not sure if that’s Ron-Lavender drama or what’s going on there. There’s also sudo Harry and Ginny smooching in this trailer which I’m sure will make all the fan girls either happy or extremely jealous (even though it’s of a fictional character *sigh*). The last things we see are Harry yelling at Snape (the Half-Blood Prince himself) and telling him to “fight back you coward” as well as a bridge being ripped to pieces (which I’m guessing is the one that Muggle Engineers would freaking out about in the book). This trailer looks like the movie is definitely going to be amazing. I’ll just say it again, I’m proud of David Yates for leaving good things alone!
I found an interesting article on Topless Robot today saying how Fox is trying to sue Warner Bros. for making Watchmen. “As big sis Nikki Finke reports, Fox—who for years sat on their old Watchmen movie rights while everyone in hollywood took a stab at making the film—has suddenly decided that Warner Bros.’ upcoming film directed by Zack Snyder is infringing on their Watchmen movie rights, and are suing to get the new version from being released….”-Topless Robot. I always think it’s stupid when a company tries to pull something like this. It’s like way to wait until the movie is completed and then try to stop it from ever being seen. Let’s have them throw millions of dollars down the toilet and then give Fox some more money. That sounds good right 😉 ? I do think it’s kind of ironic though how this just happened right after Warner Bros. decided to postpone the upcoming Harry Potter Movie.
Is it just me or does that guy look shockingly like Batman to anyone else?
By now I’m sure you’ve heard of Warner Bros. pushing back the release date of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince to July 2009. I’m definitely not happy about the push especially since that’ll mean it’s been 2 years since the last film. Why’d they bother putting out the trailer this “early”? They’d better not do the same thing for part 1 of the Deathly Hallows movie because it’s currently scheduled for November 2010. I’m not so worried about part 2 of the 7th movie since it’s schedule for May of 2011. I still don’t understand how movie producers are just realizing now that summer films make more money especially when it comes to kid audiences. I mean hello summer vacation!
There were some kinda dumb rumors going around that WB didn’t want to tarnish Harry’s image since Daniel Radcliffe is on Broadway this fall for Equus. This doesn’t make any since though considering he already performed it in London last year. It’s obvious that WB saw the success of The Dark Knight and we’re like “oh, we should do that again” a-duh! I mean as of last weekend (Exactly a month from it’s release date today) it’s still at number 2 in the U.S. That’s pretty ridiculous if you ask me.
The Harry Potter 6 trailer is supposed to be online today. I’ll hunt for it later since I can’t now but there’s other exciting news. There’s a picture of the young Tom Riddle out now and he is being played by Hero Fiennes-Tiffin which is actually the nephew of Ralph Fiennes who plays Voldemort in the films. That’s pretty cool, I mean wouldn’t you love your uncle forever if he got you that kind of gig? He’s a cute little kid but he also has that “I’m evil” look in his eyes. I guess you could find that in any 10-year-old if you tried hard enough though lol.
Anyways there’s also a picture of Dumbledore that’s been released. As you can see he’s fighting with some fire spell which is probably being used against the Inferi. Yay Dumbledore kicking some ass! Haha I’ve been disappointed with the 2nd pick for Dumbledore ever since the first one died. I always thought they should’ve used Sir Ian McKellen since he’s that happy old guy that reminds me exactly of what Dumbledore should be. Back to what I was saying, I hope the current Dumbledore (Michael Gambon) does his character well in the fight scene at the end of the movie.
I will definitely keep an eye out for the trailer today and be sure to post it ASAP. Oh and make sure you go see the new Mummy 3 this weekend because it’s supposed to have the trailer as well :D.
Edit: Here‘s the link for the trailer.
